The Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Dragster driven by Dave Hedges was back in action this past weekend in Martin, Michigan. The Team, that is based out of Decatur, Michigan, was excited to be racing at their home track for the weekend.
“We really wanted to come up here and get a few good laps in before heading to Norwalk next weekend. They do a great job of promoting this event and the track gets some really good crowds here, so our main focus was to learn something and put on a good show for all the fans, including many of our friends and family,” said crew chief Brian Pfeifer.
The Team qualified number two with a 5.52 at 265 MPH. In the first round though, they were unable to hold off their competitor and Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels teammate when they slowed to a 2.61 at 262 MPH.
“It was nice to have the opportunity to perform in front of all the friends and family that don’t usually get the chance to see us run. And it was especially great to have Evan Knoll in attendance for the weekend so that we had the chance to hang out with him at the track. I am really looking forward to getting back out on the track to get our divisional schedule underway in Norwalk next weekend,” remarked Hedges.
The next event for the Team will be next weekend, May 18th thru the 20th, at Norwalk Raceway Park where they will participate in the inaugural Division 3 event of the 2007 season.
