Great to see

I was really happy to see the alcohol cars that came out this weekend in Virginia and hope the fields keep growing. The heavy hitters from the east coast no longer have to cross the Mississippi river to compete. Same with our eastern Canadian friends.

You think Jackie and Joey gonna chase the IHRA points? 50000$.

I believe Jackie will. It apears that she really likes IHRA judging by her interviews. Be cool to see Joey too.
One thing to look at for racers like Jackie is how much the opportunity to race in NHRA Div 1 has declined in recent years. It wasn't that long ago that TAD and TAFC racers in Div. 1 had six or seven weekends to race within the division. Now, because of the loss of tracks, it is down to three weekends at three tracks. That gives them three choices: 1) Race only three weekends a year, 2) Drive longer distances to go to other NHRA divisions, or 3) Race IHRA.

Given the combination of higher purses and more convenient locations, the choice seems easy.

the biggest problem with the divisional races is the payout. alky cars might as well race for free over there. in div1 if you lose 1st round, you only get $750.00 . #9 and 10 that don't qualify at an IHRA race still get $1000.00.

Remember when Div 7 points races had 16 car fields?
