Let's see, they interviewed Antron Brown - and he called his crew chiefs Mark Corradi and Brian Oswald.

Paul Page then called Doug Kalitta Scott during his burnout against Dixon in Round 2. Am I the only one that isn't impressed by Paul Page?

Do ya think AB might have been a little amped up? Considering the job he's doing, crew chiefs would probably be perfectly happy to be called Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck!

Re Paul - you take the good with the oops and either love him or don't!

its hard to pronounce names right when your drunk like paul page is :D seriuosly, hes on his 3rd year and still cant speak! enough is enough of page already

yeah ! and the nerve of them referring to Ashley as 'Ashley Force' and not "Ashley Force Hood' plus i thought i heard a couple drivers using double negatives !!

If they keep that up, I might switch to watching bass fishing. :p;)

Bob Frey kept calling the AC Delco vision Motel six vision...let's fire him!

considering I catch myself calling it a Winston vision, I guess Frey's misstep can stay.
Get a grip guys. Misspeaks and errors are a part of every day life, and they are amplified when you are on the stage.

Mike made a few mistakes too.Wny no bashing of him? This is recorded live, get a grip.there are always some mistakes.

And yet another bash Page thread..:(

I actually enjoy him. After reading his blog and his take on Mike..I've discovered new found respect.

This is like complaining about which way the toilet paper rolls..but it's predictable..even during the off season he caught smack.

Some of you guys have GOT to let this Paul Page thing go! He's the announcer, I think he does a good job, and just about everyone on the show made some sort of mis-speak last night, including some of the racers, as was noted above.

Seriously people, you're not six feet under, you're not starving, and your favorite form of motorsports was the feature of a pretty decent show, that featured some pretty darn good racing.

There are a LOT of other more important things to get exercised about.......

I'm starting to think that people aren't watching the show for the races, but to find more stuff to complain about.

Exactly I thought he did pretty good.

Boy howdy, I sure is glad ain't none of us on this here board ever makes any mistakes or don't never speak wrong.

Paul Page is terrible. He is not a good representative of our sport.

With that said, I have come to understand there are some things I have no power to change, and therefor do not waste any of my energy worrying or complaining about them. PP fits in this category for me.

If getting National Events same day with decent coverage otherwise means putting up with PP ... then so be it.

PS Jenn ... I still call it "Winston Vision" too ...

No wonder you think I'm old...

(Not gonna let you forget that one, am I?) :p

Not only that ... but the last couple of years at Indy ... I have been calling the Skoal Showdown or US Smokeless Showdown the Big Bud Shootout. Funny thing is, everyone knew what I was talking about.

As for the old thing ... it is better to be thought old, than to actually be old. You guys comin' to Vegas in April ... I will bring you some Oreos to make it up to you.

Or make a spelling or grammar error... If I had a dime for every confusion between "there", "their", and "they're" on the Mater, I'd be rivaling AJ for team funding. :D

People who have so much animation on this issue ought to just drop by their local high school football or baseball game and try their shot at announcing. It's easy to criticize when you have a TiVo and can back it up over and over, but doing it for a crowd in real time is a whole different kettle of fish. It is remarkably hard to do at all, and a special talent to do it even moderately well.

David, since you are new to Nitromater (posts=2) we will have to cut you some slack on starting this bash Paul Page thread. This is thread # 999 about his mispronunciations or outright wrong names for someone, and we are all pretty much OVER IT...or NOT

Welcome to the Mater and try to enjoy the good with the bad. If you really want some good bathroom or late night reading, just do a SEARCH on Paul Page and you won't run out of posts or threads to read for the next year or so. He's old news now, and we can't change it. Sorry.

And there's extra credit if you can pronounce Kurt's name correctly on the first try :)
