[coverattach=1]Earns Valuable Points For Kennedale $30,000 Outlaw Pro Mod Shoot Out
Kennedale, Texas. -- As the year of drag racing is almost complete, there has been a lot of excitement, thrills, carnage, new cars, new drivers and the list can go on and on. For Frankie "MadMan" Taylor, he was able to add another trophy to his wall on Friday night at the Texas Raceway make up rain date that enables many of the finest Texas Outlaw Pro-Mods race on a regular basis.
Taylor, who began the evening in the 3rd qualifying position, made his way into the final round, but not before setting a new track record at Texas Raceway for the Pro-Mod's at a 3.860 in the 1/8th mile.
"There are always a lot of good teams that show up" commented Taylor, "tonight just ended up being our night to take home the hardware."
Respectively, Steve Wiley was the other final round competitor vying for his first win of the season piloting the 1963 red supercharged Corvette of Jimmy Hector out of Big Springs, Texas.
Both teams only had eleven short minutes to service their cars in between the semi-final and the final round due to curfew restraints.
"When you only have time to zero the clutch, pack the chute and fill up the fuel between rounds, it becomes anyones race at that point. We really feel fortunate to have been in the money round, let alone to win it" concluded Taylor.
The Taylor Motorsports Pro Mod Team will next be competing at the ADRL Race in Ennis, Texas for the LenMar World Finals on October 23rd and 24th, 2009.
Frankie "MadMan" Taylor would like to give a special thanks all of his crew and to his team mates from Haning Racing.
