AYUGA, ONTARIO (September 9, 2011) – Although Phil Sampson leads the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings going into the sixth and final race of the 2011 season, there is a lot of postponed eliminations to take place before a final winner is declared for the season.

This final race will be held September 9-11 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, but the final elimination of race four must be determined, and three rounds of eliminations must be held before the points race is back in order for this sixth race.

The final round from race four, held at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 4 must be finalized, with Top Sportsman driver Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario, pitted against Top Dragster driver Jeff Moser of Bamberg, Ontario.

And at the recent “Thunder by the Beach” race at Grand Bend over the Labor Day weekend, only one elimination round was held before the race was postponed due to rain.

Going into this final race at Cayuga, Sampson, of Granton, Ontario has 1022 points.

Jamie Bridge of Napanee, Ontario is next with 985 points with his Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman driver Darrin Grubb of Pine River, Ontario is third with 965 points. Fourth is another Top Sportsman entry, Wilson and Gray, of Ingersoll with 938 points, and Wicke is fifth with 916 points.

After one round of eliminations, the Top Dragster side of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series ladder will see Bill White of Gadshill, Ontario race Bill Moloughney of Shawville, Quebec. Lance Orr, also of Shawville, will race Tony Positano of Toronto, Ontario, Moser will race against New York State’s Jim Rubino, and Paolo Giust of Osgoode, Ontario, goes up with Sam Christian of Buffalo, New York.

On the Top Sportsman side, Grubb will race Darryl McMillen of Goderich, Ontario, Wicke will be pitted with Tom Orr of Shawville, Quebec, Wilson and Gray will race with Sampson, and Dave Sullivan of Brighton, Michigan will race Dan Aitken Jr of Belle River, Ontario.

With event titles and the ultimate championship on the line, all Quick 32 Sportsman teams will be at their best for this exciting, down-to-the-wire season final.

Racing is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday, September 10.

The Cayuga race, September 9-11, will complete the seventh season of the PMRA, the third season of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the inaugural season of the PBSS.
