I can remember a million years ago standing on the top deck of the old timing tower at Etown during the Summernationals (I think) The building was 3 or 4 stories, the top one being the deck. They had a Jet car for an exhibition run. When the afterburner kicked in, it singed my hair a little. And the noise wes deafening.

The first time I saw some Jet cars was at Ennis a number of years ago. It was at night, of course, and we had seats near he starting line. As they left the line and went down the darkened track, you would swear an F-15 was taking off.
