I never get tired of watching these kinds of videos. Mesmerising.
Love the sounds of the air guns, the clanging of cylinder sleeves, the air nozzles... music to my ears.
The choreography, the smells of freshly raced race car and the chemicals.
Good stuff.
In the vid, is the mechanic torquing the head nuts first, then removing them with the gun? Or is he breaking them loose by hand then using a gun to spin the nuts off?
And is that a temp sensor in the clutch can cover?
Thanx. Why is the gun not used to break loose the nut?
And is the temp sensor monitoring the ambient air temp in the can or the temp of the titanium can itself?
They get torqued around 160 ft pounds. A lot for a gun. Plus sometimes with a gun it will unscrew the whole stud from the block. As you see doesn't take long to bust them loose by hand. Sensor measures the heat is coming off from the clutch. Everything matters on those cars !
