The report on NHRA.com is that Robert is in the Castrol car and John will be in the Auto Club car starting next week. I guess John wasn't f'ning around when he said that on the show a couple of minutes ago.

No big shake up, just strategy. Drivers get the points, not the cars. Robert is in dire need of points to make the top ten, and John doesn't need them. So, he simply loans Robert a better car (John's car) to earn points to make the count down, fairly simple. The question is will DSR put Hagan in Beckman's car to counter?, or for that matter how about a Cruz & Tony swap? Tobler's doing both cars now!
;)

Good points Mark, it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. I am rooting for Cruz to make it into the Countdown.

What if after Robert gets the better car they get the same results? Before you jump on me I am a JFR fan, I'm just asking. The driver can have an effect on the car's performance. For example, I remember a few years ago John was using the clutch too much backing up from the burnout and heating it up more than Coil wanted.

Let's just wait and see.....................;)

mike, you're rite (chad head prepped track @ indy too....heard that somewhere), first run on sat. @ BIR was very good conditions and tight track,
AAA car missed the setup, then of course lost Q4.
what i'm wondering though did the AAA car test with same combination
they used @ BIR??

There are also the team dynamics to consider. Try as one might, teams get solidified, set into the same routine, no matter how hard you try to shake it up. Imagine how it would shake up your team if you suddenly went from calm and collected Robert Hight to hyperactive John Force. Talk about shock therapy!

When you're in a certified slump, shaking things up in the heads of the personnel can be every bit as important as changes in the equipment.

But don't these teams work together anyway? I would think they are used to John by now!!!!! I think it is going to be very interesting to see how it turns out!!!!

John and Robert both testing each others cars today at BIR.
Wasn't Robert out of testing days after last weeks test at ORP?

I was sitting in TPed's lounge with him (back when he was with JFR) when John came in like a bull in a china shop, ranting about something. After he left, I asked Tony, "does he do that often?" Tony said, "only to me, he leaves the other guys on our team alone". Guess the crew chiefs get some of it, but it was only John's team that felt the full fury of the whirlwind that is John Force. :)

Don't know if that's how it is today, but it was that way a few years ago...

If this works (for Hight), it is very possible that Mike Neff could end up on the outside. Look at the points!!

I'm surprised that no Cruz or Hagan fans , so far, have a problem with this deal.

I'm a DSR fan and I'd really like to see Hagan in, but not by using anything else than his car, his team....that's he's raced with all year.

I guess this is the old battle: Spirit of Competition vs. I need my sponsors money!

Mikes car is run out of John's back pocket so to speak so does it matter if he gets knocked out of the top 10?

Cruz is 10th, Matt is 11th and he is twice as close to Cruz than Robert is!

If "the Don" want's to swap Ron's, and Matt's cars/crews who's to stop him from making the change right now (or Matt's family biz would rather have his f/c a tax write-off, they do own Shelor Motor Mile don't they?).

"The Don" must be better off $$$ wise than JFR, and John is trying to just survive the current economy!

This tid-bit from last year.
Tony Schumacher wins Winternations with new Alan Johnson cylinder heads that were "supposedly" approved Feb 1st, week or so later after B&M from other teams right after the winternationals saying the heads were not approved, on 2/20/08 the NHRA then announce the new heads were all ready legal since 2/01/08. HHHMMMMMMMMMM!

"If" they were approved on 2/01/08 why wasn't it announced that day?
