KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (February 6, 2008) – Drag Illustrated, one of drag racing’s most popular new magazines, signed a multi-year agreement with the American Drag Racing League to become the title sponsor of the ADRL Dragpalooza IV at Houston Raceway Park near Baytown, Texas, ADRL President, Kenny Nowling, announced recently.
“Through its continued support of the American Drag Racing League, Drag Illustrated maintains a vital presence as a key partner in the development and growth of the ADRL and our fan base,” Nowling said. “Drag Illustrated’s sponsorship of the ADRL Dragpalooza IV at Houston Raceway Park further demonstrates the effect of ADRL’s marketing program on the motorsports industry and our importance in other companies marketing strategies. To this day, Drag Illustrated is the only racing magazine that I anticipate hitting my mailbox and the only magazine that I actually read, every month, cover to cover.”
The Drag Illustrated Dragpalooza IV event will be held March 7-8 at the infamously-fast track just east of downtown Houston. The first of nine races on the $900,000 ADRL tour, Dragpalooza IV will play host to the world’s quickest and fastest outlaw door slammers.
“We just amped up over the opportunity to join forces with the ADRL,” stated Drag Illustrated Marketing Director, Jason Caldwell. “We’ve followed the ADRL, but have yet to have the opportunity to really dig in and get after it at the events – meet face to face with our subscribers and all the racers that read our magazine.”
In addition to Dragpalooza IV, Drag Illustrated has entered into a multi-tiered agreement that includes collaborative efforts online at ADRL.us :: Home and Drag Illustrated Magazine along with a wealth of new in-print programs on the pages of Drag Illustrated.
“This dynamic partnership allows us to leverage the ADRL’s phenomenal success and popularity to drive business and create additional brand awareness throughout the country for Drag Illustrated,” said Wes Buck, Editor/Publisher of Drag Illustrated. “We’ve been long-time supporters of the outlaw drag racing movement and these efforts to team up with the ADRL show our dedication to this type of racing. Honestly, we couldn’t be more excited to work with the ADRL and the incredible racer therein.”
Drag Illustrated’s Advertising Publisher, Wyatt Haldin, expressed great enthusiasm for the upcoming event as well, “We’re extremely excited to align ourselves with the ADRL. The series continues to grow at a rapid rate and our entire staff is looking forward to plowing new ground down in Houston – both in the advertising department and continuing to build our hardcore reader base.”
