BROWNSBURG, Ind. (July 7, 2006) - Multi-team owner Don Schumacher officially confirmed that Pro Stock driver Erica Enders has joined the Don Schumacher Racing Pro Stock operation for the remainder of the 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series and beyond.</br>
Under a partnership agreement with Don Schumacher Racing, Enders will team up with DSR Pro Stock pilots Richie Stevens Jr., who drives the Team Mopar/Valspar Dodge Stratus R/T, and Shaun Carlson, driver of the Team Mopar/SRT Dodge Stratus R/T, beginning at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals July 14-16. </br>
The Dodge Stratus R/T Enders will drive will have a matching paint scheme to Carlson's car.</br>
A fourth DSR special-edition Pro Stock car, to be driven by Gene Wilson, will also be unveiled by Mopar at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals.</br>
"The news that Erica Enders was joining DSR spread like wildfire around the sport," explained Schumacher, "and was reported as fact before we were able to make an official announcement. I am pleased to finally make it official and welcome Erica to Don Schumacher Racing. She is an outstanding driver, asshe has already demonstrated, and her fan popularity, youth and driving talent will definitely be assets to our team and to Mopar.</br>
"We look forward to a long association with Erica and, with the expansion of the team earlier this year to include crew chief David Nickens and co-crew chief Terry Adams, I am confident we will see strong results from Erica and the other three Mopar teams."</br>
Enders is eager to make her debut with the team at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals. "It's huge. DSR is the biggest team in drag racing," she said. "I'm excited to be a part of it. I've known Don and Tony (Schumacher) since I was 9 years old, and Tony is kind of like an older brother to me, so it's really cool. Richie (Stevens) and I drove Jr. Dragsters together, and he's a great guy, so I'm looking forward to having him as a Mopar teammate."</br>
Enders, 22, began competing in the Pro Stock class in 2005 following a stint in the Jr. Dragster class and has raced in Super Gas, Super Comp and Top Alcohol Funny Car. She was the subject of the Disney Channel's most successful original movie, Right on Track. So far, in 2006, before joining DSR, she has qualified No. 1 once, was runner-up once, a semifinalist once and a quarterfinalist five times. Her career stats include two runner-up, three semifinal and six quarterfinal finishes. Her career-best elapsed time is 6.670seconds (Chicago 2, 2005) and top speed of 207.56 mph (Englishtown, 2006).</br>
