LAS VEGAS - Lady luck refused to smile on Doug Herbert and the Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster in the windy Las Vegas desert.
With a best time of 4.64 seconds at 307.65 mph, Herbert missed the field at the eighth annual Las Vegas NHRA Nationals by three-hundredths of a second.
"We didn't get it done," said Herbert. "We're going to stay and run the car on Monday. We are determined to get it figured out, and we will."
Five races into the 2007 NHRA POWERade season, Herbert knows things will come together for his team.
"We're frustrated," said Herbert, "but we're determined. We know we are better than this, and we're going to fix it. We'll spend time testing on Monday to get things figured out. Then we'll head to Atlanta ready to race and ready to win."
