[coverattach=1]Firebaugh, Ca – This upcoming weekend, Jay Diedrich and his Evil Outlaw 1957 Chevy will roll into Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho for the 39th annual Nightfire Nationals while running with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. The Nightfire event is by far one of the biggest events on the West Coast and this will mark the first year the WCOPMA has run at the event.
Diedrich is starting to find the consistency needed to win races, his quick ET’s and fast MPH have been with him all season but consistency was lacking in the beginning. After winning his first pro mod event last month and running a career best ET at 6.11 he is more than ready to take on the best of the best on the West Coast in Boise.
With a lot of interest and confirmation of racers attending it will be a battle just to qualify for the 8-car field. The event is pulling in names like WCOPMA points leader Bret Williamson, WCOPMA president Rod Burbage, NHRA pro mod racer Dennis Radford, pro mod/street legend John Scialpi, Good-Guys president Marc Meadors and many more including Rod Pearce, Randy Kay, Dan Myers, Trevor Lowe and some of the best North-West pro street racers in the Washington, Oregon, Canada area.
The Nightfire Nationals event will undoubtedly pull in more fans than any other stop on the WCOPMA’s 2010 schedule. Add tons of fans with Nostalgia fuel Funny Cars and Dragsters, Pro Mods and a huge 4-day bracket race and this event is not one to miss! Diedrich and his crew are definitely looking forward to running at this event and plan on doing well, too.
The WCOPMA racers will have three qualifying shots total; one on Friday night at 7pm and two on Saturday and 1pm & 7pm. Eliminations will be held for the 8-car field on Sunday at 4pm, 6:30pm and the final round at 9pm. Of course, all times are approximate and subject to change.
