There were plenty of open seats in the stands during first round of tf and fc....yet it was about 5 to 6 deep along the fence.

Also congrats to Craig Bourgeois for making us Louisiana racers proud in comp. Two of the best drivers battling it out. .008 to .007 lights. Wow

Congrats to Mark Oswald too. I was rooting for a win.

It was about 10 deep on the spectator side of the track. For some reason people would rather stand then sit.

All the people on the fence is partly caused by the "all seats reserved" attitude by NHRA. I like the old days when you could sit about anywhere you wanted. But standing by the fence is a long racing tradition which started before strips had grandstands ! :-):);)

I could be wrong but I think the "all reserved seats" is a track decision not an NHRA one. For example at E-Town on the main pit side (left side) on Friday Sec 3-5 are reserved, on Sat Sec 1-8,, and finally on Sunday Sec 1-12 are reserved. On the main pit side they also have the wood grandstands that are GA the entire weekend that go from about the 1/8 mile to the finish line. The stands on the other side are GA all weekend.

Big Zappy and I had this same discussion back in 05 at Chicago about the amount of people standing. They were crammed 5 to 10 deep along the fence. We figured if everyone did sit the stands would then be packed. Not to mention every one would be able to see a heck of a lot better.

The entire spectator side of the track at RT 66 is GA with the exception of 2 or 3 sections around the 60ft part of the track.

Pomona is an NHRA track and they have over sold general admissions more than once. Like every year.

We sit on top of the tower, with a great view. There were a lot of people there this weekend.
