NHRA® Team Report
NHRA Nevada Nationals – Las VegasPre-Race Report

With two races to go in the 2022 NHRA season, Cruz Pedregon is looking forward to Las Vegas as a race both he and Crew Chief John “J.C.” Collins have won multiple times through the years. Cruz has had memorable times at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway including the epic 2016 wheelie his Funny Car made when decked out in pink to honor sponsor Snap-on’s support of the Pink Fund® in the U.S. and Kelly Shires Foundation in Canada. It has an updated pink paint scheme this year, continuing to further awareness of these organizations that are helping breast cancer patients meet non-medical expenses while undergoing treatment.
"Coming off a good event where we were up against the 16-time world champion that went wheel-to-wheel, we know we can have a strong finish to the year as a team. We have Lee Beard, a Hall of Fame crew chief, consulting during these last races, and we’re trying some things like moving from a five-disc set-up to a six. We’re working to finish well and get a jump on next year,” says Cruz. “We want to win really badly, and we know we can get top runs out of the Snap-on Dodge, so we plan on ending the season on a high note and moving on to getting ready for next year.”
On the side of Cruz’s car this week, along with the PinkFund.org and KellyShiresFoundation.org, is the name of local Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Kyle Reber. Kyle has been with Snap-on for seven years but just two months ago took ownership of his own franchise…at the same time he and his wife had their second baby. Outside of work, he says family keeps him busy, but he’s looking forward to being at the Vegas race after taking Cruz around to meet some of his customers this week.
