NHRA® Team Report
NHRA Toyota Nationals – Las Vegas
Pre-Race Report

Cruz Pedregon will build on the good runs the Snap-on Toyota has been showing and replicating that tuning during the upcoming weekend in Las Vegas. "We’re pleased with the strong numbers we’ve been seeing in the 3’s and have had a series of round 1 wins, so we plan to stick with that game plan and go more rounds in Vegas Sunday,” Cruz says. “The El Cucuy ‘boogieman' body is making a positive impression in its Pink Fund paint scheme. All of us know or have someone in our lives impacted by breast cancer. So, we hope having ‘Socket to Breast Cancer’ on the car is helping to raise awareness of The Pink Fund. Our primary sponsor, Snap-on, is supporting the nonprofit in its mission to connect individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment to the help they may need with non-medical expenses.”
Crew Chief Tommy DeLago says, "We’ve had four runs of 3.94 or better, and we like the way the season is finishing out for Cruz and the Snap-on Toyota. We qualified in the top five and won a round for the fourth straight race. Even though we’re not in the Countdown, we’re racing as though we are, and it’s paying off in the numbers we’re seeing."
This is the final race for the pink Snap-on "Socket to Breast Cancer" logo on the sleek black background. Cruz’s sponsor Snap-on is making an initial $50,000 donation and The Pink Fund will receive additional funds generated through Snap-on sales promotions. Find out more at Pinkfund.org.
On the side of Cruz's car –
Check Cruz's car this week, and you'll see the name of area Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Jacob Fisher. Jacob was an auto technician before taking on his Snap-on franchise. He says he likes all the people he gets to meet and work with along his route. Jacob attends both Las Vegas NHRA races each year and says once you’ve been, you get addicted to the smell of nitro in the air. He’ll be here this weekend with his wife and 30 of his customers.
