What's the deal on this?

It's on competitionplus.com

I hope he finds a good ride. He deserves a championship, him and capps before there done.

Cory Mac released?....replacement driver to come?....Don says stay on until you find another ride?.....??

I've got to tell ya, I'm pretty confused by this.

Cory has always said he would like to become a vet so maybe this was kind of a mutual deal. If not I wonder if his vast array of associate sponsors will go with him to another team.

I could have sworn that Cory brought FRAM to DSR and it was HIS sponsor back in 2007 when they teamed up after the Scott Griffin "fiasco".
Does anyone know if they came on with DSR at renew time? Looks like it, just don't remember hearing or seeing anything.

This stinks,i like Cory,i prolly wont be rooting for his replacement driver next year that is for sure. Good Luck Cory an another ride!!

He made it pretty plain in the last telecast that he was far from being ready to retire. Plus, like Pete said, I thought the Fram deal was his?

Go back to CompPlus, Cory explains that his sponsor wanted a younger driver.

I full well appreciate their wanting a younger driver and going after a younger demographic. As an AARP member, I will honor their wishes and purchase AC Delco filters for my fleet instead of Fram in the future.

Yea screw Fram,im done buying there products.

younger demographic to sell consumer brands fram, autolite and prestone?
personally, i buy less of these products now than 10+ years ago; but will
add that a driver's age or gender plays no part in my buying decision of
consumer products, automotive or otherwise

Ditto, that, Mike. I support solely on the fact that any given company supports our sport. Replacing Cory with Spencer will not change that as long as they stay. It's just the way things roll.

I wouldn't have been buying Fram products to begin with. They are junk. Worst filters on the market. They just have a killer advertising campaign.
As far as Spencer goes, he will win that team at least 5 extra rounds a year based on reaction times alone. I can't believe somebody hasn't scooped him up sooner.

well to all you cory mac fans, instead of honeywell there is always PEAK products. Corey Mac is a great guy and a great driver, hate to see him go.

I'm sure Massey is worth a few rounds on the tree, but until he gets a few seasons under him, I'd be willing to bet that Cory would get a few more rounds that Spencer wouldn't necessarily be ready to get based on good ol' fashioned experience.

I'm not necessarily a fan of either one of them, but I respect the amount of seat-time Cory has and the ability that comes with it.
