O’FALLON, MO (September 7, 2011) – Support continues to build for the Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman class in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL).
With Summit Racing Equipment already named as the official sponsor for the ADRL’s newest class, the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league announced on Tuesday that contingency postings for the class have already reached an impressive level.

In addition to the contingency program from Summit Racing Equipment, contingency sponsors for the class include Hoosier Tires, Jerry Bickel Race Cars and Tim McAmis Performance Parts, which also sponsors the low qualifier bonus for Summit Racing Top Sportsman.

It doesn’t stop there, either. New contingency sponsors starting with the upcoming Dragstock VIII at Rockingham Dragway are Ross Racing Pistons, Jerry Haas Race Cars, Rock Racing Batteries, Davis Golf Cart Sales and STT Safety Equipment, which has agreed to a double contingency posting.

“The support we’ve already received from these sponsors is incredible,” ADRL Director of Contingency Scott Forthmann said. “It shows just how excited all of these companies are to have Summit Racing Top Sportsman in the ADRL.
“Of course, we’re thrilled to have Summit Racing Equipment as the official sponsor of the class and we’ve also been impressed with how quickly these companies have jumped on board with their contingency postings.
“It shows how much they believe in the class and in the ADRL and we are confident that the support from these sponsors for the Summit Racing Top Sportsman will only continue to grow.”

The ADRL held four and six-car Top Sportsman exhibitions at two earlier races this season before officially adding the popular class in July at the Ford Drive One Summer Drags VII at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.
The debut was a rousing success, as 19 cars thrilled the packed U.S. 131 Motorsports Park crowd with tremendous side-by-side racing.

A month later during the Speedtech U.S. Drags IV at Virginia Motorsports Park, a total of 25 cars delivered another standout performance as the class continued to build momentum with more participants and top-notch action.

The seventh stop on the 2011 ADRL Tour – Dragstock VIII – takes place on Sept. 9-10 at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, N.C.
