COMP CASH REWARDS MID SEASON UPDATE

Midway through the 2008 Lucas Oil Drag Racing season the COMP CASH REWARD program in Division 4 has dispersed over $17,000.00 to participants in the four completed events. Current national Comp Eliminator point¢s leader Craig Bourgeois has taken home the lion¢s share of the purse this year with wins in Belle Rose and Houston. Scott Benham has also cashed out well with a win in Dallas and a runner-up at the JEGS Cajun SPORTSnationals.

With a total purse of over $65,000.00 up for grabs in the 2008 season, focus now starts to shift towards the season ending division race in Noble Oklahoma. As announced at the beginning of the season, the last Division 4 race of the year will feature a $25,000.00 COMP CASH REWARD bonus purse available to Comp Eliminator racers that have competed in 3 of the previous six events within the division in 2008.

As of now, eighteen drivers have qualified for the season ending event in Noble, and another 12 racers are just one qualifying event away from making it a probable THIRTY drivers running for the money come mid October. There are another twenty one racers that could compete at the final two events to make it a possible field of FIFTY ONE drivers for the race in Oklahoma.

With that potential field of drivers for the season ending race, it will be interesting to see just how many are able to complete their qualifying at the final two events in Memphis, TN and Shreveport, LA. The COMP CASH REWARD program has already seen the largest Comp field at a Lucas Oil event in 2008, with a 36 car field in Dallas earlier this year, and the potential exists for an even larger field of cars, all running for the money at the race at Thunder Valley Raceway Park.

With $25,000.00 on the line and a full field of 32 cars running for the money, the race in Noble promises to be one of the best ever. With the cool fall weather that normally invades the heart of America at that time of the year, it might also be one of the greatest showcases of tuning, power and driving talent that will ever be seen. The winner of the COMP CASH REWARD bonus check will certainly be leaving the Sooner state with one of the largest winners checks ever presented, and you all are invited to attend the event and join us in the winner¢s circle.
