Cedar Grove NJ - Fire LT Chris Russo ended up on the top of the heap on race day in the Pro Mod category at the Eastern Spring Test Nationals presented by Torco's competitionplus.com. The weather was not cooperative the first few days pushing the race back from Saturday to Sunday because of rain and very high winds. Sunday the weather finally broke and the South Georgia Motor sports Park crew did a great job of getting the many, many teams 3 rounds of qualifying. After all was said and done Chris Russo ended up in the #1 spot with a 6.06 @ 238.34 mph. " I am still shocked when I look at the list of 30 Heavy hitting Pro Mod cars (guys like Carl Spiering, Mike Ashley, Scott Cannon, Danny Rowe, Kirk Kuhns, John Russo) and we were able to take home the trophy" says Russo. Chris would like to thank three people. Layne from Fastlane Race Cars who reworked the entire car from top to bottom over the off season. Mike from Quest racing who built the Hemi that powers our Corvette. Last but not least Darren Mayer from DMPE for designing a tremendous supercharger and for all of his help over the years. "Because of our limited budget we have to be selective in the races we attend, but I could not have asked for a better start to the year!"
