ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO (June 22, 2011) – After two of six events in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series of drag racing, the Hinbest Racing Team has one car in third place and the other in 19th spot out of 38 teams in the popular series. Unfortunately in the second round of the Xtreme Mayhem Nationals at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park the team’s cars were matched up, and Mike Hinbest, the driver of the team’s six-second Top Dragster car took the win over the Top Dragster of Katie Ward.

“It has been three years since our team has been past a semi-final round, and the hard work and dedication of our crew is what makes this possible,” said team driver Mike Hinbest.

For 2011 the team has decided to create the Hinbest Racing Foundation to accompany their charity efforts. A website has been started and will be completed late in 2011. Last year the Hinbest Racing Foundation was able to raise $600 for the Canadian Cancer Society, and provided a $1000 Scholarship for students at The Canadian Automotive Institute. As well the team raised $700 as part of a charity auction for Georgian College.

“Our ‘round win for charity’ program is back as well,’ noted Katie Ward. “For every round our team wins we donate $50 to charity and our sponsor Ideal Supply from Listowel will match that contribution. This is a great program.”

To fundraise money this year Hinbest Racing has decided to have authentic NAPA Racing Hats custom designed, and they will be sold at the track for $20 with $5 from every sale going to charity.
