I'm expecting to get some shit from this but after watching John cross the centerline (AGAIN!) I believe he should consider retirement. He's got nothing to prove and should go out on a high note instead of maybe wrecking another driver's car of hurting somebody and retiring at the bottom.

Thoughts?

It's hard to guarantee sponsors that they will get the same exposure if someone else takes over the driving duties, unless one of the girls comes back.
Good point. The Force name gets the sponsors.

I would say that he's waiting for his granddaughter/Robert's daughter to be ready to take over. But then again, there was time when people said he'd retire when Ashley got her license and let her take over, and look how that turned out...

the reflexes aren't what they use to be and the cars keep getting quicker. I would hate to see him get hurt or anybody else. Might be time for a family intervention

I don’t think he forgot how to drive. Everyone went sideways (or nowhere) on that track. He just stayed a little long.

I agree with his value as a driver. Don't know if he can sell sponsorships as a team owner/retired driver.

tend to agree with m. burke; as long as john is at the track he is valuable to sponsors.
he has always talked about 'the next generation' coming up that is the future of the sport, yet his seat remains unavailable.
i get it. he's addicted to driving/racing, he can't quit.
