Phil's piece on nationaldragster.net about the two California Charger dragsters really took me back to those happy days of OCIR. The FED car was probably the final word in that type of car's construction and probably a precursor to today's high standards of mechanical preparation. And the paint, OMG, when was the last time any of us stood slack jawed staring at the paint job on a fueler. I have the 1/16 scale Revell model in my office at home next to the Beebe and Mulligan model.
Now Phil, after reading your piece, I have a strange desire to get some tortilla chips and OCIR red sauce.
