4:21 p.m. Manners gets the bye run because only seven cars decided to play today. If he'd had an opponent, this would be a foul and he would lose. Instead, he only loses lane choice by running a five. Mike Manners' incremental times: 60ft-0.965 sec., 330ft-2.570, 660ft-3.883/183.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.016.

Well . . . if Manners had an opponent and said opponent red lighted, crossed the centerline or hit the wall, would they both be DQed?
Manners did go on to win TD shootout and runner upped in TS. This guy has got to have some serious bucks! -

I love top sportsman and top dragster but it looks like they are headed to the dreaded whoever have the most money will qualify. Maybe they need to make it all run or at least a 48 car field.
Good luck today Mike, I will be there rooting for the home boys(& girls).
We just got back from the Cajun Sportsnationals. Mike Manners red lit in the first round and ran another 5.98. Both his Top Dragster and Top Sportsman cars are for sale. I know he is running TAD now also so guess the sportsman cars gotta go? Full 32 car fields in both Top Dragster and Sporstman, with some good cars not making the show. About 560 car count, not too shabby...Good show and a great day for racing Cajun Style. Below is Mike Manners Top Dragster pic from Dragracecentral.com
Bump ended up being 6.79. Unfortunately we didn't get in. We had it set up to go a low .70, but the track got a little greasy for the final hit and went into tire shake. I got it to recover but just didn't make it. It was fun though. A lot of good fast cars and great weather. As far as being related to Jim Nicoll. I am really not sure. Maybe distant relations. It would be cool to find out though.
