That doesn't help me, I need 2 Gainesville events. I don't know why they don't do that anyway. Gainesville is one of the best races if not the best, IMO

could you imagine just 1 exhibition pass of all 4 lanes with nitro or alky in them? Wow that would be a new level of Ground Pounding Excitement!!

:D

That is great news if it works, Pomona's the only track that has proven to be able to support 2 Natl. events! Even Vegas doesn't fill the place for both races. We shall see...

If they do this I would expect a schedule change since the Memphis date is a couple of weeks after the current Concord date. I would imagine they would maybe move the Madison date to the current Memphis date in early October and have the 2nd Concord date in early May. We will see.......

schedules would remain unchanged.
bruton's facilities hosting 50% of races deciding championship.
why buy the store when you have the best merchandise.

It would make zero sense to have a race at the same track within 3 weeks of each other. You wouldn't give people on budgets enough time to save up money and come back.

I could see Brutons people looking for the second event in May.... they always wanted to make that area the "real" home on racing in the month of may.. taking it away from the Indy 500.... start off may with the NHRA end it with the NASCAR World 600....

well we'll see how it all pans out.
keeping money on bruton getting 3 of 6 last races next year.

hey, could be wrong.
i still think BIR will have no 'mandatory' top end sand/catch nets.

In and around Charlotte all my life. Charlotte is a very fickle city. Bandwagon is a common description. 1 date = success. 2 dates I don't know. That's a lot of cash to be spread around to a place with 3 separate weekends for Cup racing just across Highway 29 in the heart of circle country. I do hope that it's a success.

Gainesville is NOT in the Top 10 Media Markets in the United States, Los Angeles is #2. It may not make a difference to you, but it is important to new sponsors and the NHRA - no matter how the seats get filled at Pomona.

Is the size of the local media market that important for racing? Unlike stick and ball sports there is no home team. For example, is the Houston area viewership higher for the Houston race than it is for the rest of the NHRA races? My guess would be that it probably is a little higher but overall small compared to the nation wide viewership.

I didn't say that is was important for racing, as with NASCAR, Los Angeles is an important market for potential advertisers & sponsors.

Perception is reality. ;)
