<P> SONOMA, Calif. -- Bret Williamson, owner and driver of the Team Eagle / Beams Automotive Corvette Top Alcohol Funny Car Team, are headed to the hometrack in the center of California's popular wine country for the 21st Annual FRAM Autolight Nationals.
Williamson and Team Eagle have just revised their fuel system and have enlisted the expertise advise of Randy Anderson to help with the tuning calls on their Fontana combination. On their last test session at Sacramento Raceway, the team successfully posted their best ever 60 foot time with a stellar .915 and followed those numbers with planned shut offs for data purposes only.
"We're really excited about the changes we've made to the car and how well the car is responding to the changes" said Williamson. "The weather is supposed to be pretty nice in Sonoma and even though the wind can be tricky there, the track prep is always top notch during the National Event which should help us duplicate our efforts from our recent test session."
Williamson's Team Eagle / Beams Automotive funny car is one of the only manually shifted cars left in the alcohol class throughout the country and the only Hemi Powered Corvette competing at this event.
The 21st Annual FRAM Autolite Nationals NHRA Powerade Event in Sonoma, kicks off on Friday, July 25th with two rounds of qualifying at 1:30 and 5:00p.m. for the Alcohol Class.
