Tom Bradford and The Sportsman Channel Buell have the consistency to make this year's ultra-competitive NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle fields, but Bradford and the team know they need to step up their program to achieve the big moments and top-of-the-field results that characterized their 2006 campaign. After a 14th place qualifying performance at the Torco Racing Fuels NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway near Chicago, Bradford left eliminations early at the hands of third-in-points Karen Stoffer.

eliminations round 1

Tom Bradford .069 7.063 at 188.31 mph
"We have a bike that runs .04, .05, .06, and we just need to finesse the tuning to run better," said Bradford. "It's that competitive out here and our team is doing a good job. We adjusted for the additional 10 pounds (that the NHRA added to all of the S&S powered Buells) and the bike was phenomenal in its consistency. We just lost a good race to Karen Stoffer. After that, we tested on Monday and came out with four more consistent runs.
"Chicago was the hometown event for our team and our sponsor The Sportsman Channel, and we entertained 100 to 125 people throughout the weekend. That was awesome. Todd Hansen, the Vice President of The Sportsman Channel, was there and it was great to have his attendance along with all of the great people from The Sportsman Channel. We'll be entertaining reps and clients from their New York office at Englishtown, and it's always great to introduce these people to what we do out here at POWERade events.
"It was also great to have Rob Schopf back in the pits at Chicago. He is always an asset at the track, and we're looking forward to the next event that he can make it to. Jim Schneider and the rest of the team will be at it in Englishtown, and we are working hard in the short week between races to find some little items to help step up the performance of The Sportsman Channel Buell."
Tom Bradford and The Sports Channel team race next at the ProCare Rx NHRA SuperNationals June 21-24 at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.
