Chris Davis had a lot to deal with as his gorgeous NF/C 'Old School Nitro' exploded in the lights at the Goodguys 'Friday Night Drags' at Pacific Raceways. He managed to keep it straight, keep it in the lane, and stop it in the shut-down. Not exactly sure how... Guess that's why he's the driver and I'm the photographer. He exited on his own, and by the time the safety-crew got there (instantly) the fire was out. Chris is fine.

This was a nasty fire. Years ago, a fire like this would have burned the car to the ground, with much fear for the driver. Fire suits are soooo much better. Inside the body sprayed with fire resistant foam. So glad Chris walked away from this one.

Awesome sequence! Fires in the cockpit like that (even as rare as they are now) are still probably the scariest thing to witness.
