Bluebaugh Racing's Team Magna Fuel is busy preparing for another fantastic year at the Street Car Super National's in Las Vegas, November 18-21, 2010. Bluebaugh said "We look forward to this race every year and the opportunity to run with the nation's very best cars in our class. As a West Coast team, this is a big deal for us practically right in our back yard. While we are far from the fastest team expected to show up, it's an exciting accomplishment to simply make the field and go a round or two."
Team Magna Fuel is striving again for a mid-pack position as a strategy to go as many rounds as possible. Bluebaugh and team have often found the finals from the mid-pack point as faster cars seem to fall out early. This race will be no exception with a plentiful history of upsets and surprises in the competition. Anything can certainly happen in Vegas.
Crew Chief Deborah Woodard said "This race has a little Las Vegas luck that rides with it as a possible advantage in competition. Last years SCSN winner, Dan Vogt cruised through to the win, far from being the fastest racer. He won the race with a consistent well-prepared race car and luck of the draw. It's entirely possible that a good 6.30 car that goes down the track every time can find the final round. This is undoubtedly what we will hope for in the way the competition falls. We certainly need a little luck and we definitely know that we can be consistent. It's anyone's game on race day as the competition pushes the limits to the extreme more so than in regular season competition."
Bluebaugh has been working long hours every day going over the Magna Fuel Monte Carlo doing maintenance and inspecting all parts of the car from top to bottom. Crew Chief Woodard upped the nitrous system looking to improve the horsepower potential of the engine while Bluebaugh reconsidered the gear ratios for starting line advantages. Woodard said "Looking for hole shot head starts and correctly managing the power we do have will be important in giving ourselves every chance against teams that can run high fives. All we can do is to be ready when the opportunity comes. One of our best actual advantages is just knowing the conditions of the track in Vegas as we work through our preparation. We hope to round out the 2010 year with some new personal best's."
