Since the subject of block cars is (and will be) common on this board; when was the first official block car used in a Pro catagory at a National Event? I know at the 1980 Finals, Larry Minor put Kelly Brown in a second car to help Beck, but Shirley won the title. Billey Meyer had a second car win the 1982 Finals but Hawley still won the title. In 1983 Larry Minor drove a second car as a blocker all season (Beck did not really need any help that year). Others?

By the time Pomona is done this "Countdown" will almost be able claim creation of the idea of blocking/team orders/diving.

staying above board, i'll bet there'll be a steak dinner or two purchased
by the end of the year.......i.e. team not in points scoring crucial round
win/s over top points cars
