EDMONTON, Alb. - IHRA Torco's CompetitionPlus.com Pro Stock driver Bob Bertsch and his Rislone Engine Treatment backed team hope to bounce back during this weekend's CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alb. After a strong semifinal outing in Rockingham, a broken ignition wire sidelined the team in the first round at the last stop on the tour in Tulsa, Okla.
Bertsch, from Willis, Mich., hopes to put that problem behind him this weekend and pick up where they left off in Rockingham.
"Tulsa was just a freak deal," said Bertsch. "We had one of the wires going to the MSD come apart and it wouldn't start. We've went over everything since then and hope to put that behind us this weekend."
"This is our first trip out here," Bertsch continued. "It's been quite the road trip; it's 2200 miles out here for us. We've heard good things about the track here, so we're looking forward to running there. We still think there's more left in this Mustang. As we get more runs, it gives us a chance to get it more zeroed in. Hopefully we can make some good runs early and make a good showing for Rislone, Share Capital Wealth Management and Ram Clutches."
Qualifying begins on Friday for the IHRA Knoll Gas Motorsports Nitro Jam Pro categories, with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
