Since everyone's on the trash Evan Knoll theme right now, seems we all forgot how he bailed on the sport overnight leaving every team he sponsored hangin.

Joe you can't really compare the two. Costanza had a two car team so the sport really wasn't impacted other that the people directly associted with that team and he was the team owner. Torco on the other hand sponsored over 24 teams and made a lot of promises they could not keep.

Now comes word that their fuel is inconsistant and IHRA is going to let the Pro Stock teams use VP. The Torco situation is a much bigger fiasco.

John Costanza was a crook. Just ask any of the guys who were working for him and had to got through the authorities to get their promised back pay. Evan, on the other hand, trusted people to take over while he was getting well, and was screwed by those same people.

How do I know? My son was one who was working for Costanza AND he is currently working on J.R.Todd's car, which used to be sponsored by Evan.

Thanks Ma - things have been tough on crewmembers and vendors and it's getting worse. On a positive note, your son is NOT working for a crook now!

I remember him. That's when I first heard about Tim Wilkerson because he was running the JCIT car. Since I didn't know the details at the time it was really surprising to me when he just pulled out and left everything high and dry.

I still think the worst dose of nitro fumes I've ever received was Wilkerson in the JCIT car at the World Series @ Cordova several years ago.

When John Costanza started out he bought Mike Troxel's A/F opration which he later sold to go FC racing. I bought Troxel's former T&E Trailer from him before John went away. Dennis Taylor now races out of that trailer.

Although he stuck it my pal Randy Green and a bunch of others from what I've heard, he treated me right.

i live in the same town as john...(parker, CO), my two oldest kids went to high school with his daughter, who drove a super comp car for a while...

i saw him in home depot a couple of years ago, i asked him several things, one why did he let tim wilkerson go...he said it was because he didn't mention his sponsor on espn when he was interviewed after qualifying #1 at denver (whatever)...he also told me he made lots of money in drag racing!

btw, he is retired and sold jcit as well.

This guy has to be full of it if he says he made lots of money Drag Racing.
