Northwest drag racing legend Walt Austin has passed on. One of the first diggers I ever saw make a pass down the
1320, was the AA/GD of Walt & Bucky Austin on a warm June day in 1968 at Pacific Raceway (8 years old, first drag race).

I’m so sorry to hear this. What a story, what a career, what a father, what a wonderful person. Sending prayers to his family during this difficult time.
 
That whole Austin family was a drag racing staple; I miss them greatly. RIP, Walt. Prayers; the family.
