CHARLOTTE, NC (April 30, 2011) – Angie Smith and her Coffman Tank Trucks Buell had a rough start on Friday, but she bettered her efforts on Saturday. Qualifying in the number 15th spot heading into Sunday’s eliminations in Houston, Texas.
Running a 7.028 et at 186.85 mph on Saturday during the final session, Smith moved her way up in the Pro Stock Motorcycle field as she was the eighth quickest bike of the session.
“I am just glad to be in the show at this point,” said Angie Smith. “It is always hard heading into Saturday not qualified, but we kept our heads high and ran the best we could. I am glad the bumps in the road are gone, and I am ready to go out and do the best I can tomorrow.”
Smith is sitting in the 10th position in the NHRA Full Throttle Championship point standings, and she hopes to gain some more ground tomorrow.
Final eliminations start at 11 a.m. CDT at the Royal Purple Raceway in the morning.
