With the exception of one car it's an all A/Fuel program in Houston with Duane Shields at the top of the class with a 5.20! One thing that makes this class so great is that the percentage of cars and fields change depending on what time of year it is and the location of the race. In other words its not the same 16-20 cars at every race. This is a great class to follow.

Shields has 7 hundredths on the field....when is the weight adjustment gonna come?!?!?!?:eek::D

Maybe Duane should start to eat a few snickers bars from his stores??? Only (1) Blown car.....WTF is Right about this??? That sucks. Maybe my buddy JOKA can answer this question.... IS IT CHEAPER TO RUN A/FUEL or BLOWN ALCOHOL??? Maybe they should give the blown cars a 50 lb weight brake for a start...Maybe that'll bring some of them back to the Show.

Tim, I have a very reliable source and he tells me that a good A/FD would probably get close to 4 sec run if all cylinders stay lite and they turned it loose. Heck look at the record set in Houston last year. They have to keep them slowed down or NHRA will turn them upside down. I think they should run TA/D and A/FC in all national events, that would help balance this class.

Well, when Morgan DNQ's I would say it's drag racing.....some need to hit up Kleenex for a sponsor.....Mike it is called "At the right place at the right time...."

Shields.....wins the Winters....Div 7 PHX out first round....Tucson...out first round.....

Who the he11 knows......I think Dana Hopewell is the chit....don't care what type o car he runs...straight up a GOD!

Timaaaaah AFD vs. BAD in the cash dept.?....HANDS DOWN AFD IS CHEAPER PERIOD!!!!!!!

Division four has almost all A fuel cars in the class. That being the case Houston has and will always be primarily an A/Fuel field. But the cars are as close as they have ever been for a long time. And with the blown cars shaking and getting out of shape with the new overdrive on some runs. Who knows how they would behave if they had a C blower. There are still some respectable blown cars running out of division One, Three, Six, and Seven. Martinets ran a respectable 40 flat first round but of course was against the champ. Wait till it gets hot out. Gainesville was interesting. Wish I had that on tape but hadda work that Saturday it was broadcast. I think you will be seeing a lot of career bests from the blown cars this season. They ain't dead yet.

More than anything, a clutch management system like a TF or AA/FC would enable the 4-second A/FD run.

Per the rule book, TAD/AFD/TAFC are not allowed any type of clutch management using electronics, pneumatics, or hydraulics. Their clutches are nothing but counter-weight...
