Really nice to see Mopar wins by Allen Johson & Mark Pawuk. Long time since both had wins.
Allen in Factory X at 7.105 202.27. Mark in Factory Stock at 7.638 180.89 Pretty stout for Fac Stk). Both in Dodge Challengers.
Pawuk set a new National Record 7.583 in the 2nd round...Bitchin

Been seeing some finger pointing and raised eyebrows of Mark running awesome this weekend.Something about undercutting the other Mopar racers or something. Whats the story. Congrats Mark and team, Great job!

One big problem facing Factory Stock is they are only certified for 7.50 or slower. Once they run in the 7.40’s the class is dead. They would need safety modifications and no longer meet the rules of the factory stock class.

NHRA has a long history of penalizing Mopars and Fords when they start beating the GM cars.
I wish NHRA would tell the GM teams to quit whining and, instead, tell them to build a better product.
Those penalties are an acknowledgment of mediocrity of the GM cars.
NHRA does this every time.
And they wonder why there isn’t more involvement by Ford and Mopar.

All three makes got a pulley increase this year. The Fords and the Dodges are running the same size pulley now with this recent change.

The real reason is that the chassis is only certified to 7.50. Can't have those cars going .50's in not great conditions.

Add fifty pounds, add fifty pounds...........oops car is too heavy for chassis spec.............reduce blower pulley, reduce blower pulley.............new fuel, new fuel..............anyone else see the pattern. It all started in 1970ish with the advent of the 426 HEMI.
