Indianapolis, Friday: Running a track record elapsed time, Jason Line drove his KB Racing LLC-owned Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO to the No. 1 spot after the first of five qualifying sessions.
“There were a lot of cars running well out there tonight, we just happened to be the lucky one that came out the best,” said Line following the single qualifying session tonight. “The starting line was really good and with the set up we had on this Summit Pontiac we were able to take advantage of it and ran a good number. Now we need to take our data and improve the performance of both cars tomorrow.”
Line’s teammate Greg Anderson recorded a run of 6.700 seconds at 205.85 mph, good for the sixth spot.
