MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Feb. 1, 2007) - A number of drivers and race teams are expected to make their first appearances of the year when the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League holds its first test session Saturday and Sunday at Montgomery Motorsports Park.
The track, which features a new racing surface, will be open on both days for open testing runs for all interested ADRL competitors. The weekend test session will also provide those in attendance a preview of the track where the 2007 ADRL season will open two weeks later. The ADRL's third full season of competition kicks off Feb. 16-18 with the ADRL SpeedTech Winter Drags.
"After an incredibly busy off-season, I'm thrilled to finally be getting back to racing," said ADRL President Kenny Nowling. "All of us at the ADRL have seen enough of boardrooms and conference rooms; we're all eager to get back out to the track to do what we do best."
Among the drivers expected to appear this weekend at MMP are Bubba Stanton and Keith Baker, the 2006 ADRL world champions in Pro Extreme and Pro Nitrous, respectively; Mike and Michael Neal; Pro Nitrous veteran Johnny Pilcher; and Travis Swearingen.
