O’FALLON, MO (September 5, 2011) — The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) returns to Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, N.C. on Sept. 9-10 for Dragstock VIII.
With increased purse payouts for each race, a new World Championship format with major championship payouts and expanded live online broadcasts during eliminations, there is considerable excitement and anticipation surrounding the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league as it returns to Rockingham Dragway.
The gates open at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the first round of qualifying on Friday set to begin at 12 p.m. On Saturday, the racing will begin at 12 p.m. with the final qualifying session. The first round of eliminations starts at 3 p.m., with a special jet-car and monster truck pass concluding the evening on Friday and Saturday.
WHAT: ADRL Dragstock VIII takes place on Sept. 9-10 at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, N.C. It is the seventh of nine national events this calendar year for the American Drag Racing League (ADRL), but the eighth points-paying event toward the 2011 World Championship.
Series includes six all-professional, eighth-mile drag racing classes: Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman (TS), Extreme Pro Stock (XPS), Pro Extreme Motorcycle (PXM), Extreme 10.5 (XTF), Pro Nitrous (PN) and Pro Extreme (PX), the quickest and fastest full-bodied, doorslammer class in the world.
Pro Junior Dragsters also compete at each ADRL event, along with exhibition runs by a Police Interceptor jet car and the legendary Summit Motorsports “Bigfoot” monster truck.
