Grand Blanc , MI , September 3, 2006 – Officials from ACDelco today announced that they had signed an extension of their title sponsorship of the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) race in Gainesville , FL. The multi-year agreement ensures that the third event on the prestigious POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule will continue to be known as the ACDelco Gatornationals through the 2009 season.
”ACDelco had a tremendous initial experience as the title sponsor in Gainesville, and we look forward to continuing our association with this great race,” said Jim Moloney, General Director of Marketing for General Motors Service and Parts Operations (GMSPO). “We had a great response at this year’s ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals from our distributors and their customers, and the entire event was a resounding success. We look forward to returning over the next few years to take maximum advantage of our involvement. ACDelco is excited to be going back to Gainesville Raceway.”
By continuing its support of the NHRA’s traditional East Coast season opener, ACDelco further cements its impressive presence in the world’s premiere drag racing series. ACDelco’s title sponsorships effectively bracket the POWERade Drag Racing season, pairing the ACDelco Gatornationals in the early part of the year with the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals, which is the penultimate stop on the POWERade Drag Racing tour.
