With these very impressive runs this weekend do you think we will see the first 300MPH run in the 1/8 mile this year. If memory serves me correctly I think someone went 299 a couple of years ago. These crew chief's our just amazing to get these car's to accelerate to the 1/8 mile that fast. The great track preparation by the nhra sure isn't hurting anything also.

Langdon went 299 to the 1/8 in Brained when he was still driving for Alan Johnson.

Which will be first?
300mph 1/8 mile or 200 mph PSB pass?
which will be first to 300 mph FC or TF?
Matt Hagan does hold the fastest mph, correct?

In theory a FC has more down force than a TF so should be faster to 300, then again in theory a bumblebee can't fly either,

The TF cars are still way faster at the 1/8 than the FCs.

TF 300MPH in the 1/8 mile will happen before PSM 200. PSM has been stuck in that 195-199 range for quite some time now. Just tell the nhra to take 10lbs off there minimum weight and it would happen. Remember TF our limited to 7700 rpm. FC is limited to 8100Rpm. That's why FC runs faster 1000Ft MPH. If you let TF rpm's to 8100 I think you would easily see 338MPH maybe even 340MPH.

Mark, our top fuel car revs up to 8600 rpms at the step.

The revlimiter kicks in after 2.5 seconds if you are over 8250 rpms.

Thanks for the clarification. On a really good run what is the average rpm at 2.5 into run.

They do? I've never read or heard that before. FCs usually pick up more mph after the 660 ft mark because they have less drag, not more downforce.
