POMONA, Calif. (March 29, 2025) – – Shawn Langdon ran the fastest pass of his career. won his second-straight Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge and qualified third in the final round of qualifying for tomorrow’s Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals.

Yesterday, Doug Kalitta won the weather-delayed Right Trailers All-Star Callout at In-N-Out Burger Dragstrip, and today, he raced his teammate, Shawn Langdon, in the Mission Foods #Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge – a rematch of last week’s semifinals and finals at last week’s NHRA Arizona Nationals near Phoenix.

Langdon defeated Kalitta in the final round last week to win his first race of the season in his second 2025 final round. Today, like last weekend, Kalitta defeated Jasmine Salinas and Langdon defeated Brittany Force setting up another all-Kalitta final round.

Langdon made it two in a row against his teammate to win his second Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge of the season. Counting last weekend’s Mission Foods Challenge win, his NHRA Arizona Nationals win and today’s Mission Foods Challenge win, the Mira Loma, Calif., native now has eight-consecutive round wins. Including his runner-up finish in Gainesville, Fla., Langdon turned on the win light following 11 of his 12 competitive rounds this season.

Langdon and his Kalitta Air Careers Toyota team made their best run of the weekend to defeat Kalitta in the Mission Challenge final round. Langdon’s 3.662-second pass at 338.68 mph beat Kalitta’s 3.658-second run at 333.91 mph. It was the fastest pass in Langdon’s career and the second-fastest in NHRA history.

“This Kalitta Air Careers Toyota team is just rolling right now,” Langdon said. “The way this car was running in Phoenix carried right over to this weekend. It’s honestly a great feeling to come back from a run and see the smile on (Team Owner Connie Kalitta) Connie’s face and the smiles on the guy’s faces. All their hard work is paying off.

“We had a rough couple of years, brought (Crew Chief Brian Husen) Brian on board last year, started to see some good results initially, and then we were in the thick of it for majority of the year but kind of just missed the championship. We came out this year on fire again, and it feels like – between Doug’s team and our team, one or the other’s getting there. It’s a great time to be a part of Team Kalitta.”

Langdon is the No. 3 qualifier and faces Ida Zetterstrom to open Pomona eliminations. Kalitta is the No. 2 qualifier and will race Scott Palmer in Sunday’s first round. In Funny Car, J.R. Todd qualified No. 7 and will race Daniel Wilkerson in Sunday’s opening round for the second-straight race
