When Langdon advanced to the quarterfinals, he earned a spot in the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge at the next race near Charlotte. During Saturday’s qualifying sessions, the drivers who reached the second round in Pomona will run the 4-wide semifinals and final earning additional purse and championship bonus points.
Unofficial Point Standings: Langdon leaves Pomona in second place in the NHRA Top Fuel point standings. He trails his teammate, points leader Doug Kalitta, by three points and leads third-place Josh Hart by 17 points.
Langdon on Pomona: “We just lost a good race – the Kalitta Air Careers car was great, but we just ended up on the wrong end of a great drag race. We’ll pack up and head to Charlotte in a couple week. We’ll leave Pomona No. 2 in points so the Kalitta cars are one-two in points, and that was the end of the weekend goal. It’s good racing.”
