ENNIS, Texas (Oct. 11, 2025) – – Shawn Langdon is the No. 1 qualifier for tomorrow’s 40th Anniversary Texas NHRA FallNationals. The race is the fourth of six Countdown to the Championship NHRA Playoff races. The race broadcast is scheduled for either before or after the Dallas Cowboys-Carolina Panthers NFL game at 2-4 p.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. eastern time on FOX; check local listings.

During the Friday-night qualifying session, Langdon made a 3.684-second pass at 338.88 mph in the Kalitta Air 25th anniversary dragster to qualify No. 1 for the first time this season and 22nd time in his career. Langdon won the “Battle for the Saddle” earning a $15,000 bonus as part of “JEGS Friday Night Live, and his time held up through the final two qualifying sessions Saturday afternoon.

“It’s nice to be able to make some good runs on Friday and Saturday,” Langdon said. “Last night set the tone, and then today we were just trying to manage getting down the track so we were able to pick up some qualifying bonus points, which is critical at this point in the season. We have a good car and a lot of confidence for tomorrow; we’re excited about race day.

“Anytime we show up to a racetrack, we have the mindset of winning. It would be cool to win; I haven’t gotten it done here with those opportunities (three final rounds) in the past, but looking back on them, we’ve always had good races. If it doesn’t happen, we’ll just keep trying, but hopefully, we can get it done tomorrow.”

After qualifying, Langdon remains third in points but now trails the points leader, his teammate Doug Kalitta, by 119 points and trails second-place Justin Ashley by 38 points with tomorrow and two additional races remaining in the season.

Langdon will race No. 16 qualifier Mitch King in Sunday’s first round. Kalitta is the No. 5 qualifier and will race Jasmine Salinas in the first round. In Funny Car, J.R. Todd qualified No. 10 and will race Cruz Pedregon in Sunday’s opening round.
