Quotable:
“The old cliché ‘everything’s bigger in Texas’ definitely holds true for us in the NHRA. The FallNationals is what I call a momentum weekend, and it always has been. It’s either going to put you in the place you want to be with two races left to go in the Countdown to the Championship, or it can be the place that takes you completely out of the hunt. In the years we won the championship and had good seasons where we battled for the title, the Dallas race at Texas Motorplex was always one that was sort of a make it or break it for us, and a lot of other teams as well. So, for us, we’re looking to this race to build on the momentum our NAPA Auto Care team has after coming off another final round in St. Louis.

“There’s a lot going on with this event. You’ve got everything that goes on with Friday night qualifying and the extra prize money they put up. The conditions at this facility are some of the best that we see, and the fact that you can pretty much throw everything at this track, especially during that Q2 run on Friday night, that bodes well for having a crew chief like ‘Guido’ (Dean Antonelli). I’ve been lucky enough to win at Dallas. We’ve had a lot of races where we gut-checked them out where you roll into Sunday and you’re not quite sure that you have a car that’s as dominant as you’re used to, but you end up winning the race, and those are great weekends, especially when you do it at the Texas Motorplex. So, we’re looking forward to going to the FallNationals, continuing the Stampede of Speed events, we’ve got the champions’ dinner on Wednesday, Fanfest in Waxahachie on Thursday. Just a great week and a great weekend of racing coming up.”
