BROWNSBURG, Ind. (Jan. 21, 2026) – Ron Capps Motorsports drivers Ron Capps and Maddi Gordon will appear in prominent roles in the new docuseries, Chasing Speed, premiering Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 9 p.m. ET on VICE TV.
Consisting of six hour-long episodes, Chasing Speed dives into the fast-paced world of 330-mph professional NHRA Drag Racing. While the series captures no shortage of on-track intensity, many of its most compelling moments unfold behind the scenes, following several of the sport’s most dynamic drivers, spotlighting their journeys as they battle for win lights and respect throughout the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Racing Series season.
In the series, Capps, a three-time NHRA Funny Car world champion and 32-year veteran of the sport, reflects on his early days in the sport and the moment he received “the shot” from legendary team owner Don “the Snake” Prudhomme. Now, years later, Capps finds himself in a similar position as a mentor and team owner. After four seasons balancing the dual role of team owner and driver, Capps announced last spring the addition of Gordon, a third-generation racer preparing to make the leap from a family-run Sportsman program into the high-profile professional Top Fuel ranks in 2026.
Cameras capture Capps and Gordon at pivotal moments throughout the season, following Capps as he navigates the evolution of his Ron Capps Motorsports team, and Gordon as she transitions into a dramatically different stage of her young career.

“I’m thrilled that NHRA Drag Racing is finally getting its due and being featured in this way,” said Capps, driver of the NAPA Auto Care Funny Car. “For so long, I’ve said NHRA needs its own show, because this truly is a one-of-a-kind sport and there are so many different people and personalities that come together from all walks of life and duke it out week after week. It’s cool to be on a platform like VICE and have an opportunity to introduce a new audience to the sport we all love. I think the big speeds and header flames and all those great NHRA glamour shots will draw people in, but it’ll be the behind-the-scenes stuff that’ll really keep them watching.”
“For me, it’s really special to have been invited to participate in this docuseries,” said Gordon, who will drive the Carlyle Tools Top Fuel dragster as Capps’ teammate in 2026. “It was cool to share this part of my journey during those final races competing with my family. To be honest, these last few months have been a whirlwind, and it’s been really exciting getting ready to race in Top Fuel. Being included in this just adds to that excitement.”
Chasing Speed, featuring Capps and Gordon, airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on VICE TV. Episodes will be shared to VICE’s YouTube channel 24 hours after initial airing. For more information: https://www.nhra.com/news/2025/chasing-speed-six-part-nhra-drag-racing-docuseries-air-vice-tv
