KENT, Wash. (July 20, 2025) – Jeg Coughlin Jr. and the SCAG Power Equipment / Outlaw Light Beer team made their first final round appearance of the season Sunday at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways just outside Seattle.

Racing against rival and local racer Dallas Glenn in the finals, Jeg Jr. handed the victory over on the starting line when he was -.009 seconds red on the Christmas tree. Both Jeg Jr. and Glenn smoked the tires almost immediately at the step. Glenn picked up the win coasting to a 17.420-second pass at 62.72 mph.

“There’s only one guy here leaving the track happier than I am and that’s Dallas Glenn,” Jeg Jr. said. “It was misfortune, I turned it red in the final by nine-thousandths of a second which I’m still a little shocked at. I had a really good rhythm going all day and I felt real good behind the wheel and was feeling equally ready for the final round there. Then him going up in tire, spin and us doing the same, you know, could have been an interesting final round there, but obviously for not.”

Jeg Jr. started race day from the No. 6 qualifying position after putting up an impressive 6.499-second pass at 210.50 mph on Saturday. The SCAG Racing team’s efforts awarded them a first-round match up against teammate and six-time world champion Erica Enders in the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / SCAG machine.

The two multi-time champions had a clean side-by-side drag race with Jeg Jr. picking up the first-round win on a holeshot. His .007-second reaction time with a 6.495-second pass at 210.64 mph was enough to take down Enders’ .057 reaction time and 6.481 pass at 211.79, her best run of the weekend.

The first-round win matched Jeg Jr. with most recent event winner Cory Reed in the quarterfinals. The SCAG machine would run 6.504 seconds at 210.73 mph to take down Reed’s 6.513 at 211.03, setting Jeg Jr. up with a semifinal race against Cody Coughlin.

Jeg Jr. had the starting line advantage and never trailed to make his way to the 121st final round of his career. With a 6.497-second pass at 211.36 mph Jeg Jr. made quick work of Coughlin’s 6.508 at 209.92.

“For where we’ve been the last six to eight races this feels good for the entire team,” Jeg Jr. said. “We had three cars in the second round. We got two cars in the semifinals with Greg Stanfield and I. To make our first final of the year, you know it would have been uber, fantastic to pull off the win here and repeat as champions back-to-back, but it was not meant to be. So, we’re looking forward to Sonoma next week.”

With the semifinal appearance, Jeg Jr. earned a spot in the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge where he’ll have a rematch with Coughlin during qualifying at the next race. Joining Jeg Jr. in the #2Fast2Tasty Challenge will be Greg Stanfield and the Janac Brothers Racing / The Rod Shop team. Stanfield will have a rematch with Glenn who he came up short to on a red-light start. It was Stanfield’s first semifinal appearance since 2013. Stanfield defeated Stephen Bell (6.462 at 212.36 def. 6.518 at 211.20) and Matt Hartford (6.474 at 212.29 def. 6.508 at 212.29) en route to the semifinals.

The Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series Pro Stock season continues next weekend, July 25-27, with the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway.
