“The pressure is on at each and every Countdown race, especially the earlier ones where it’s still wide open and everyone is maneuvering their spot in the standings, but this weekend’s Charlotte race adds an extra level with it being the first-ever four-wide playoff event. Coming out of Reading, we’re feeling pretty good. We didn’t go as far as we had wanted on Sunday, but we made some good runs, and we were consistent. For me personally, I have a good track record with four-wide events. My last two out of three Charlotte four-wide appearances have resulted in advancing to the final quad, including finishing as the event runner-up at the 2023 race. The key with four-wide races is to not get tripped up by what everyone else is doing. It’s less about racing your opponent and more about racing the race track and the conditions you’re dealt. With four-wide races, consistency outweighs hero runs. As long as we stay the course, I have no doubt we’ll have a good weekend and hopefully put ourselves in position to steadily add points and improve our position in the standings.”
