FuelTech just made a major move, it acquired Velopark Racetrack, one of Brazil’s most recognized motorsports venues. Starting in 2026, the facility will officially become FuelTech Motorsports Park, a name that ties one of the most innovative brands in performance tuning directly to the country’s top racing complex.

The track’s next chapter begins 17 years after Velopark opened its gates, thanks to investor Felipe Johannpeter and CEO Sofia Costa, who helped build it into a premier destination for speed. The facility boasts a dragstrip, a 1.3-mile road course, and seating for more than 30,000 fans. Over the years, it’s hosted major events like Stock Car racing, Formula Truck racing, Endurance Brasil, and the Drag Racing Festival, making it a cornerstone of Brazilian motorsports.

Starting in 2026, FuelTech will operate the racetrack while Techspeed, a leader in karting equipment and circuit management, will oversee the kart track.

For FuelTech founder and CEO Anderson Dick, this isn’t just a business move, it’s a new way for the company to grow all forms of motorsports.

“We are taking over the racetrack with the commitment to preserve and carry forward the story of this venture that has made its mark on Brazilian and world motorsport. Velopark is part of our essence, it always has been and always will be our home track.”

FuelTech COO Luis de Leon added, “ Velopark has always been a centerpiece for Brazilian motorsports, and bringing it into the FuelTech family feels like coming home. “This acquisition allows us to invest in the next generation of racing while giving back to the community where our story began.”

The deal marks a huge milestone for the company that’s spent decades pushing the limits of engine management technology. Now, with its own motorsports facility, FuelTech is positioned to merge innovation, competition, and community in one place, a world-class testbed for everything from grassroots drag racing to cutting-edge product development.

Until the end of this year, Velopark will continue running under its current calendar, giving racers and fans one last chance to celebrate the venue before the FuelTech Motorsports Park era begins.

As Dick summed it up: “From developing world-class racing technology to supporting grassroots enthusiasts, FuelTech has always been about pushing boundaries. Owning and operating a facility like this lets us show what’s possible when passion and innovation come together, right here in our hometown.”
