“Testing went well and we’re looking forward to getting the weekend off to a great start. A lot on the line here with the points-and-a-half, and we’re looking to move up and go into the Countdown in the top five. That’s our goal for the weekend. We want to make good, consistent runs, go rounds on race day, and build some momentum so that we’re feeling good for the start of the playoffs. We’ve done well here in the past, won twice out of the last three years, so we’re very familiar with the Indy winner’s circle.
“We’ll be racing with heavy hearts this weekend, thinking about Forrest Lucas and the whole Lucas family. He is truly, truly missed, and our hearts and our prayers go out to their family. He was somebody who had so much passion and was such an icon for the sport of drag racing. We’re going to go out there, put it all on the line, and try and win for Forrest.”
