POMONA, Calif. (March 27, 2025) – Elite Motorsports rolls into the 65th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, with Aaron Stanfield and his Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / Janac Brothers Racing Pro Stock car looking for a chance to chase victory at one of drag racing’s most prestigious events.

Stanfield heads to Pomona after a semifinal finish at the Arizona Nationals and a productive test session in Phoenix following the event. Known for his precision behind the wheel, Stanfield is backed by a relentless Elite Motorsports crew determined to fine-tune their 500-cubic-inch machines. With a history of success—including a 2022 runner-up finish in Pro Stock and 2020 Factory Stock Showdown Winternationals win—Stanfield is poised to make a statement in the shadow of the San Gabriel Mountains.

“We have some momentum coming into the Winternationals with that semifinal finish at Phoenix and a successful test session. We felt like we came away with some direction, and that Monday test day was a great showcase of how hard our guys are willing to work to win,” Stanfield said. “We are just going to keep our heads down and keep working hard. With these back-to-back races you just have to focus on one thing at a time, but I love racing in Pomona and look forward to seeing our guys’ hard work pay off.”

After his performance at Firebird Motorsports Park, Stanfield earned a bid into the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge where he’ll have a rematch against semifinal opponent, Greg Anderson, For a chance at a cash prize and championship bonus points. Jeg Coughlin Jr. won the challenge in Arizona offering Stanfield a chance to make it two-in-a-row for Elite Motorsports.

“I’m looking forward to competing in the #2Fast2Tasty Challenge on Saturday,” Stanfield said. “Hopefully it’s the first of many Saturday race days for this team. Wouldn’t mind following up Jeg’s win with one of our own and keep it in the Elite Motorsports camp.”

Jeg Jr. and the SCAG Power Equipment / Outlaw Light Beer team started their 2025 season with a semifinal appearance at the Gatornationals that led to their #2Fast2Tasty victory in Phoenix. Jeg. Jr. comes into Pomona looking for a his fourth Winternationals victory, he won in 2020, 2000, 1999 and has been runner-up four times, most recently in 2013.

Erica Enders, the winningest female in motorsports history, had Winternationals wins in 2022 and 2014, and she’ll be looking for another Wally in her JHG / Melling / SCAG hot rod to get her 50th career victory.

Troy Coughlin Jr. will be chasing his first victory at In-N-Put Pomona dragstrip. The JEGs.com driver was victorious at the pre-season specialty race, the PRO Superstar Shootout and has had strong qualifying showings at the first two events of the 2025 NHRA season, No. 6 in Gainesville, Fla. and No. 5 in Phoenix.

The Cuadra Boys, Fernando Jr., Cristian, and David return to competition for their second event of the season each chasing the family’s first NHRA Pro Stock victory as they represent their companies Corral Tequila, Corral Boots and Cuadra.

Stephen Bell is making his NHRA Winternationals Pro Stock debut as he continues his rookie season with Elite Motorsports. This will be just his second event behind the wheel of the 1320 LLC hot rod.

Greg Stanfield, Aaron’s father and a seasoned Pro Stock veteran, is coming off a quarterfinal finish at the NHRA Arizona Nationals. He opened the season leading Elite Motorsports in qualifying at the NHRA Gatornationals where he started race day form the No. 5 position in his Janac Brothers Racing machine.

Racing action at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip begins Friday with two rounds of qualifying at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. PT, followed by two more on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. PT. Eliminations kickoff Sunday at 11:00 a.m. PT with Pro Stock first round at noon. Television coverage of the event will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with qualifying shows Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET and Sunday at Noon ET and eliminations Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
